Restore Your Core® Teacher, Personal Trainer, Pilates Teacher

Romford England, UK

Hi, I’m Gemma and I qualified as an RYC teacher in 2022. I’m based in the UK and love my Essex accent! My journey into pelvic floor work started with my experience with pelvic pain after I had my first baby in 2011. Something wasn’t right and like many women, I was dismissed, overwhelmed by conflicting advice, and left feeling that surgery was my only option yet I didn’t even know why. It wasn’t until I began exploring pelvic floor recovery more deeply that I realised how powerful movement and reconnecting with my body was.

As a movement coach, I’d spent years immersed in fitness culture, but something always felt off. The pressure to push harder, look a certain way, and ignore discomfort didn’t sit right with me. It wasn’t until I started working with the pelvic floor that I started to have light bulb moments about how fitness culture is always about how people look and how many of us (including myself at the time) related weight loss with self worth. Then I came across Lauren and RYC - embracing a more compassionate, holistic approach. This was how I wanted to teach. This work helped me unlearn so much toxic messaging and taught me that rest, softness, and listening are just as valuable as strength and discipline. I’m also someone who’s always had a deep love for animals and the natural world—I think that same gentleness and empathy carries into how I teach. At home we look after dogs, providing them with doggy staycations and my daughter has pet rats - now don’t dismiss them, they are amazing animals! My spaces are never about perfection or performance. They’re about helping women feel heard, supported, and in awe of their bodies again. I believe every woman deserves to understand and trust her body, no matter what stage of life she’s in. I have had my own experiences where I have been listened to and NOT listened to and the power of being heard should not be underestimated!

Today, I blend science-backed movement, health coaching, and real-life experience to help women guide themselves. Whether you’re navigating leaks, prolapse, pain, or perimenopause—this work is about so much more than exercises. It’s about reconnecting with the incredible intelligence of your body, in a space where you don’t have to perform or pretend.
