Living with pelvic pain means thinking about your body all the time

Lauren Ohayon working with a client

You feel it when you exercise, lift your kids, when you sneeze, when you sit through a long meeting. Managing symptoms becomes its own job, one more thing you plan the day around.

Learn how to change your relationship with pain through a combination of pain neuroscience, nervous system education, body awareness, and movement. Understanding why pain can persist even after tissues have healed, and learning practical tools to help your brain and body move out of protection can help you feel safer, move with more freedom, and stop organizing your life around symptoms.

On October 3rd, Dr. Howard Schubiner, one of the physicians who helped pioneer our understanding of neuroplastic pain, joins Lauren Ohayon to bring the education and movement together.

In this workshop you will:

Learn why pain can continue after tissues have healed, or alongside a diagnosis like prolapse

Learn how to tell the difference between pain driven by structure and pain driven by a sensitized nervous system, and why many people have both

Hear the specific evidence on pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, endometriosis and pudendal neuralgia

Learn the question Howard asks every patient: could this be neuroplastic, or partly neuroplastic?

Understand why tight muscles are a symptom, and why tightness is not evidence that anything is damaged.

Experience guided movement that lowers gripping and pressure on the pelvic floor

Leave with movement tools you can use at home right away

This workshop is for you if...

You live with low back, hip or pelvic pain

You have prolapse, pelvic floor tension or a postpartum body and want to understand what is driving your symptoms

You want to know how much of your pain can change, even if a diagnosis stays

You are a movement professional who works with clients in pain and wants to bring pain science into your teaching

What happens in the two hours

Part one
with Dr. Howard Schubiner:

Howard teaches the science of how pain actually works: why the brain produces it, how to tell the difference between pain driven by structure and pain driven by a sensitized nervous system, and what the research shows about pelvic floor dysfunction, endometriosis and pudendal neuralgia. He also teaches the question at the heart of his book, one worth asking about any persistent symptom: could this be neuroplastic, or partly neuroplastic?

Part two
with Lauren Ohayon:

Lauren guides a full hour of movement designed around safety. You will move from your breath and from your bones, out of the "does this hurt, will this hurt" mindset and into actually feeling your own body. This movement will begin to give your brain steady evidence that your body is okay.

Lauren Ohayon

For more than 25 years, Lauren Ohayon has been teaching people how their core and pelvic floor actually work, through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond. Her method, Restore Your Core®, looks at the pelvic floor as part of a whole system: breath, ribs, pressure, gait, the nervous system, and habitual movement patterns.

She brought that same approach to teaching prenatal childbirth education in New York and to co-founding One Strong Mama (now Body Ready Method®), and today she trains doulas, midwives, physiotherapists, and movement professionals around the world. Her trainings are known for going deep into the why: practitioners feel the work in their own bodies first, and then guide their clients there. More than 600 practitioners have trained in the RYC® Method, and more than 10,000 women worldwide have been served through this approach.
