When I first began teaching, none of the (many) trainings I did prepared me for addressing core and pelvic floor issues.

They were incredibly simplistic in their approach – kegels, TVA exercises, not much else.

Not only did they not deviate from the standard model of care, but they also did not take into account that so many women are extremely disconnected from their pelvic floor and core due to toxic cultural norms of shame and shadow.

This meant that as teachers, we were neither taught how to move beyond simple models of care nor help people have an empowering, meaningful, felt experience of their pelvic floor.

This felt like a massive disservice but also was not working to help anyone. I was not able to truly reach the people I worked with and they were discouraged, disconnected and disengaged.

So, I created the thing I knew I needed. I developed a nuanced way of meeting these women where they were at and actually giving them what they needed. I drew from the multiple disciplines I had trained for years in, but conformed to none of them.

This system became the RYC® Method. And teaching it online allowed me to reach more women so desperate for dignified healing.

I saw consistent, significant progress with clients. Success stories. Hundreds, then thousands, then 10s of thousands of women regaining their confidence and trusting their bodies again.

  4. Pass “open book” monthly quizzes.
  5. Work through the Teaching Movement Fundamentals in your own time.
  6. Submit 5 hands on practice sessions
  7. Submit 1 3-4 min practice teaching video
  8. Practice teaching with RYC® Professionals in 3 Implement calls
  9. Experienced teachers teach and log 3 client sessions, new teachers teach and log 9 client sessions
  10. Complete 3 quizzes (One per Teacher Training module 1-3) on RYC® exercises.

How it works –
RYC® Method Training

  1. The RYC® Method Training will run September – December 2025. You can see a detailed list of dates here. 
  2. The training covers 5 modules — we devote 3 weeks to each module.
  3. Modules typically consist of 3 live Zoom calls, a chapter to review in the Pro Training Manual, PDFs, pre-recorded videos, a quiz, learning objectives and  feedback forms. 
  4. Weekly live calls will typically be held on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30 pm ET. 
  5. All live calls will be recorded and can be watched on replay if you cannot attend live.
  6. This is a professional training. Please be prepared to meet expectations surrounding coursework and quizzes, engage with the group, and show up live whenever possible. You will get out what you put in.

*Course completion is reliant on meeting expectations.

  6. In TT modules 1- 3  you need to attend one 2-hour Implement Call per month. You will have several meeting times to choose from, covering various time zones. You will also need to complete 3 quizzes (One per module) on RYC® exercises.

  8. The training will close with a 90-minute Certification Call on April 8th, 2026.

What is the difference between the RYC® Teacher Training and the RYC® Method Training?

The RYC® Method Training will teach you to use the RYC® assessments, tools and RYC® ICCP, so you can start sharing this work with your community — whether you are already a professional or are new to teaching. It will not certify you to teach groups or to teach templated RYC® classes from the online program. You will also not be eligible to become an RYC® Active Teacher. 

The RYC® Teacher Training is a full movement certification where you will practice teaching and working with clients. If you want to be able to teach RYC® templated classes in both group and 1:1 settings and integrate into the whole RYC® ecosystem, you need to complete the Teacher Training. Those who complete the Teacher Training and certify are invited to pay an annual fee of $30 to continue enjoying a range of additional support including, but not limited toa listing in the public RYC® Find a Teacher database, a private Facebook group, access to RYC® branded marketing materials and discounts on future events. They are also given free access to RYC® Fit and a dedicated portal for teachers.

I have zero experience of working with bodies, or teaching movement. Will I feel overwhelmed?
Learning anything new can feel overwhelming, but we aim to make the journey as enjoyable and positive as possible. While you will probably have more to learn at the start than people with some prior experience and knowledge, you will be given everything you need to succeed.   We will provide you with pre-reading materials before the training begins to ensure you have some foundational knowledge before starting Module 1. We will also direct you to some useful resources to help you feel more prepared and better able to engage with the course material once we get started.    If you find any of the content challenging, you will be well supported by the team, and by your fellow students through our Facebook group and during the inquiry calls.   Many people join us each year with no previous experience at all, and they always complete the training successfully. You will absolutely be able to too.
What can I do to prepare myself before the training begins?
It’s essential that you complete levels 1-6 of the RYC® 12-Week Program before the training starts. Working through the classes and the bonus material will help you to get a clear understanding of the main concepts we will be working on during the training, and to have a felt experience in your own body.
Who is eligible for RYC® Professional Trainings?

RYC® Professional Trainings are open to anyone who wants to teach RYC®, including those with no teaching or movement background. The trainings will ensure you are fully equipped to work with clients to assess their movement compensations and suggest exercises to help them move more efficiently.

If you want to teach RYC® templated classes, use the RYC® branding to promote your classes, and enjoy many other benefits of being a certified RYC® teacher, you will need to complete the RYC® Teacher Training certification.

What time commitment is expected of me once the training begins?
We recommend a time investment of approximately 4-5 hours per week to successfully work through the material and requirements. This includes time to join the live Zoom calls or watch the replays, practice the assessment and exercise tools with your ‘client’, time to watch the pre-recorded videos for the relevant module and complete the end-of-module quiz and feedback forms.  We also recommend spending approximately 2-3 hours of personal RYC® practice a week using the RYC® online program (included in the price of the training), until you are entirely confident in and fluid in your grasp of the program and exercises.
Will I learn how to teach all of the exercises Lauren demonstrates on Instagram?

You will learn a myriad of exercises to share with your clients, however, you will not learn all the exercises Lauren shares on Instagram.

RYC® Professional Trainings will teach you the building blocks and principles Lauren uses to create the exercises and movements she teaches. You can then use these principles and frameworks to come up with your own pelvic floor focused, functional exercises.

What is the RYC® ICCP?
The RYC® ICCP is the Interactive Client Centering Protocol and is a thread that runs through the entire professional training. This clear protocol is unique to the RYC® Professional Training and has been evolving over Lauren’s time as a movement teacher. It is the way we teach you to meet your clients, interact with them, and become co-creators in their healing and growth with them. It teaches you specific ways to empower clients to become active parts of their healing, not by overwhelming them with high level information that causes them to disassociate from the process and expect YOU to heal THEM. Rather by allowing them to have felt experiences and ‘Ah-Ha’ moments as they connect with what you’re guiding them through in their bodies to make lasting, self-sufficient change.
Do I need to complete anything after registration and before the RYC® Method Training starts?
Yes, you’ll complete your registration pack and work through and be very familiar with levels 1-6 of the RYC® 12-Week Program (Essentials track – provided upon registration). The cost of this is included in the training.
Do I need to complete anything after registration and before the RYC® Teacher Training starts?
Yes, you’ll complete your registration pack and work through and be very familiar with the exercises from levels 1-6 of the RYC® 12-Week Program (Essentials track – included in the training price).
How long does the training run for?
The RYC® Method Training will take place over 4 months on Zoom. Meetings take place every Wednesday with some exceptions around holiday periods. The full training calendar will be visible in the training portal once it is live. There is no in-person component.  The RYC® Teacher Training begins in September and continues until mid April.
Do I need to attend the live calls to do the training?

You do not need to attend the majority of the live calls. Many people do the training without coming to the live calls and just watching them on replay. 

However, we strongly recommend students attend the calls live whenever possible. This will ensure you are fully engaged and able to keep up with the materials at the pace intended.

If you are doing the RYC® Teacher Training you need to attend 3 Implement calls where you will practice teaching live and go deeper into the exercises.

What are the requirements for certification as an RYC® teacher?
  1. Be fluid with the main concepts, the foundations, all the exercises and the tutorials / bonus material from all the levels of the RYC® 12-Week Program (Essentials track – provided upon registration)
  2. Complete RYC® Teacher Training, which includes watching the pre-recorded videos for the relevant module, joining the live Zoom calls or watching the replays; practicing the tools and assessments, completing the end-of-module and RYC® exercise quizzes and feedback forms, submitting 5 hands on practice sessions and 1 practice teaching video, experienced teachers  teaching and logging 3 client sessions and new teachers teaching  and logging 9 client sessions and attending 3 Implement calls.
How do I ensure I can be certified as an RYC® Teacher?

The RYC® Teacher Training is a professional certification. You must stay up to date with your studies and meet the outlined expectations to continue in the training and become certified. All the items from a modules 1-5 need to be completed before you complete the following module. For example, you must complete all of module 1 before finishing module 2, all of module 2 before finishing module 3 and so on for all course material.

All the items from TT modules 1-3 must be completed by the end of the module, before the next module begins.

You’ll be expected to remain concurrent with the group as we move through the curriculum and meet all expectations to receive certification as an RYC® Teacher.

Is there a test to certify?
RYC® Method Training – there is no test, but you are expected to complete the end of module quiz, feedback forms and practice the materials for each module. You are also expected to either attend all the lives or watch all the replays. You will receive a certificate of participation post-training. RYC® Teacher Training – while there is no strict pass or fail, we do expect participants to meet all their requirements and demonstrate a good comprehension of the materials, including teaching exercises from the RYC® online program and being clear on the RYC® philosophy during the on the practice teaching Implement calls  You can see a full list of the requirements to certify here.
What is the deadline for joining the September 2025 training?
Applications for the September 2025 training close mid July.
What are the meeting dates for the September 2025 training?
The next Method training will start early September 2025 and continue until December 2025. The first live call is on Wednesday , September 3rd, and gives an overview of the training format, as well as the learning portal and other important information to support you. Meetings typically take place each Wednesday at 1:30 PM ET, with some exceptions during holiday periods. The full training calendar will be visible in the portal once it is live. The Teacher Training runs from September 2025 (when the Method Training begins) until April 2026.
What is the Certification Call?
The training will close with a 90 min Certification Call on April 8th 2026. During the Certification Call, Lauren will talk you through the RYC® Codes of Conduct.
Can I decide to join the Teacher Training if I have registered for the Method Training?
If you would like to switch to the Teacher Training after purchasing, you may do so up until September 16th for an admin fee of $300.
I took the RYC® Method Training and now I want to do the RYC® Teacher Training. Can I do that in the next cohort or a future one?

How do I maintain my RYC® active status?
You’ll be required to renew your status on an annual basis for $30 per year. Will I be listed on the RYC® site?

Only active RYC® Teachers who have subscribed to the license program are listed on our sites. 

Your profile will be added to the Teachers section of both laurenohayon.com and restoreyourcore.com and you will have an opportunity for your RYC® offerings to be included on the Events page of restoreyourcore.com.

What is the Teaching Movement Fundamentals course?
The Teaching Movement Fundamentals course is an 8-module, online course included as a bonus for those in the RYC® Teacher Training. It offers students a deeper understanding of anatomy and movement.    The topics of these 8 modules include:   
  1. Sacroiliac joint anatomy and function
  2. Shoulder anatomy and function
  3. “Tight hips” sequencing
  4. General body reading and assessment
  5. Finding your voice as a teacher, learning to listen, setting goals and expectations

I’ve already completed a postnatal training, how is this different?
Most postnatal trainings don’t have a rehab element to them. In general they remain relatively surface level with core and pelvic floor information and don’t have the depth RYC® has.    They are more about getting back into generalized strength as opposed to understanding people’s unique potential limitations and are not in depth or comprehensive about biomechanics.
I’ve already completed a yoga teacher training, how is this training different?
Yoga teacher trainings do not go in depth with core and pelvic floor information. It’s likely that this training gave a more general and prescriptive training, which may have recommended kegels and some other very basic exercises.    This does not prepare you to work with, comprehend and understand core and pelvic floor issues. After RYC® you will be fully prepared and confident to teach group classes as well as 1:1 with a very strong understanding of biomechanics and multiple methods to work with the unique individuals who are your clients.
Can I do this training if I have very little anatomical information / knowledge?
Yes, absolutely. We teach everything you need to know and we are really good at describing concepts in a way that is accessible and easy to understand. We’ve had many people do the training with zero prior anatomical knowledge, and succeed.    You might need to spend a bit more time reviewing things than those who already have the knowledge, but you will get everything you need from us as part of the training.
I’m currently an occupational therapist and looking to specialize in women’s health or the core / pelvic floor. Will I be in over my head in terms of knowledge and tools with this training?
We think that overall, you will be so pleased with what you learn in this training! But we want to be upfront that it is possible to feel overwhelmed, this is a professional training and we cover a lot of ground. BUT you’ll find yourself with more answers than questions, and this training will help fill the gaps. The training makes everything you learn very practical and easy to implement. You can pick and choose the information that you need and don’t need to implement everything all at once.   You have access to the materials for LIFE, and that helps to ease the stress of mastering it all at once.   This program helps you to understand how the body really works. You’ll become more comfortable with whatever tools you’re already using and find they are more effective when you use what you’re learning in our program.   You don’t have to change what you’re doing, you’re just going to get so much better at it.
I’m a physical therapist, what will this program teach me?
You will learn in-depth tools specific to improving core / pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse and diastasis recti. These tools consider the body as a whole, functional unit.
