Lauren Ohayon is the creator of Restore Your Core® (RYC®), a comprehensive and sustainable whole-body fitness program that empowers women to achieve ideal pelvic floor / core function and be strong, long, mobile and functional.
Many women over 40 are deeply committed to staying healthy and being able to do the things they love – whether they’ve been active for years or are just finding their way back to movement. For a lot of them, the challenge was never the problem. The loud gym environment, the pressure to lift heavier every week regardless of how your body feels, the workouts built around performance metrics and aesthetics – mainstream fitness culture has a specific shape, and it doesn’t always leave room for a different approach.
RYC® FIT was built as that different approach – intelligent, progressive programming grounded in real life. Strength work that takes the nervous system seriously and accounts for the full complexity of the body. Movement that builds capacity that lasts.
Created by Lauren Ohayon, founder of the Restore Your Core® Method, RYC® FIT has become a movement home for thousands of women across 80+ countries.

Most mainstream fitness programming was not designed with the biology, hormonal landscape, or structural needs of women in mind. It was designed for peak performance, caloric burn, and aesthetics – and it shows.
Many women are navigating shifts in bone density, changes in joint laxity and recovery capacity, hormonal transitions that affect energy and muscle response, and in many cases, histories of pregnancy, childbirth, or pelvic floor dysfunction that mainstream programming never accounts for. A class that overloads the hip flexors, ignores breath mechanics, or treats “more intensity” as the default solution doesn’t serve this body.
What this points to is a gap between what most platforms offer and what women genuinely need – and it’s a gap that shows up clearly in how women describe their experience with conventional training.
RYC® FIT is built on the Restore Your Core® Method – a framework developed by Lauren Ohayon over more than 25 years of work in core rehabilitation, whole-body functional movement, and pelvic health. Every class inside the platform reflects the same foundational principles: breath mechanics, pressure management, alignment, progressive loading, and nervous system support woven into the training itself.
That means strength is never pursued in isolation from the rest of the system. Load is layered gradually. Pelvic floor responsiveness is considered alongside hip strength. The nervous system has its own dedicated class category – Restore – because recovery and regulation are understood as part of getting stronger, not separate from it.
All instructors inside RYC® FIT are trained and certified in the RYC® Method, which creates a consistency across the platform that most fitness memberships can’t match. Whether you take a strength class, a flow session, or a cardio workout, the cuing and underlying principles remain coherent. The body builds familiarity with the framework, which is how strength actually accumulates over time.
The Restore Your Core® Method is also one of the few approaches in the functional movement space that has been adopted and taught to healthcare professionals – including pelvic floor physical therapists, urogynecologists, occupational therapists, and chiropractors. Lauren’s work is informed by and has informed more than 500 professionals across these disciplines, which reflects the clinical rigor that underpins what members experience in every class.
The platform offers more than 500 on-demand classes organized across four main categories:
Beyond the four categories, members have access to more than 20 curated collections and guided series that create structured progression over time. A few examples:
Slow and Steady Strength
A blend of strength-building and cardiovascular work curated for all fitness levels, designed to build endurance and overall capacity at a sustainable pace.
Strong Bones, Resilient Bodies
Focused on spinal safety, progressive loading, balance, and posture to support bone strength and reduce the risk of falls and fractures – practical, evidence-informed movement for building stability over time.
Integrated Strength: Core & Shoulders
A progressive series connecting the shoulders, wrists, and core for stronger, more supported upper body movement – both in training and everyday life.
These are just a few examples from a library that spans foundational strength, progressive loading, mobility, nervous system support, cardio, and more. Explore the full platform with your free trial.
Classes range from 10-minute express sessions to longer 45-minute workouts, and can be filtered by duration, equipment, intensity level, and focus area. That flexibility is part of what makes consistent movement sustainable.
Try 18 minutes of healing, nourishing movement – the RYC® way
Yes – and this is one of RYC® FIT’s particular strengths. The platform includes foundational strength pathways specifically designed for women who are returning to movement after a break, rebuilding after injury or surgery, or starting strength training for the first time.
The Strength Foundations series, for example, introduces hinge, squat, push, and pull movement patterns with careful attention to alignment, breath, and pelvic health. Classes are sequenced so that the body can develop familiarity and confidence before intensity increases. There’s no expectation that you arrive already fit – the platform is designed to meet you where you are and build from there.
This also means the membership works well for women who are post-rehab, whether from pelvic floor work, back issues, hip procedures, or other conditions. Women who have completed the RYC® 12-Week Program often move into RYC® FIT as their ongoing strength and movement practice once the foundational healing work is done.
This is one of the most common questions women bring to RYC® FIT – and one the platform addresses directly.
The short answer: no. Heavy lifting is one pathway to strength adaptation, but not the only one. For many women, it isn’t the most aligned one either – especially when the goal is feeling capable and connected in daily life rather than hitting a performance benchmark. And for women with a history of pelvic floor dysfunction, high-load training without proper breath and pressure management can create or worsen symptoms.
RYC® FIT builds strength through progressive loading, coordination training, and movement quality – which means the body adapts deeply rather than just getting tired. Members regularly report more strength gain and better physical results than they experienced when following conventional heavy-lifting programs, because the system addresses how the whole body responds to training rather than isolating muscle output.
Here’s how some RYC® FIT members describe their experience:
“RYC® Fit is so much more than an exercise program. It’s a mindset, a philosophy of movement. It’s changed the way I think and feel about exercise, about my body, and about myself. I workout almost daily, and for the first time in my life I have found something I don’t hate, and that I can stick to. I’m so much stronger than I’ve ever been. It’s helped a lot with the chronic tension and pain I’ve had for years.”
“RYC® Fit helped me stay fit while addressing my needs as a woman and mother of four. I had much less back pain during my last pregnancy, and RYC® Fit definitely played a large part in that. I often have sciatica, SI joint pain, and Psoas tension, and Lauren’s programs enable me to work out safely while challenging myself.”
“RYC® Fit offers so many options for whatever my body is craving – I can get sweaty or move slowly, focus on my entire body or just one specific area. Before RYC® Fit, I had a hard time getting motivated to exercise. But now I even get up before my family, do a video and move on with the day. It just feels so good.”
“Once I started I realized exercising need not be a chore, it can be love, pure love. To move your body, to train your movements, and strengthen in so many different ways. I simply cannot start my day without RYC® Fit since I started 2 years ago.”

RYC® FIT includes more than 500 on-demand classes across Strength, Flow, Cardio, and Restore, plus 20+ curated collections and guided series. New content is added regularly, and members can filter by equipment, duration, intensity, and focus area to find what suits their body and schedule each day.
Many classes inside RYC® FIT require no equipment at all. For classes that use resistance tools, common items like light dumbbells, a resistance band, or a mat are sufficient. The platform includes filters so members can search for classes based on exactly what equipment they have available.
If you are currently working through active symptoms – such as leaking, prolapse, or diastasis recti – the RYC® 12-Week Program is the recommended starting point, as it provides a structured rehabilitative foundation. RYC® FIT is designed for women who have established that foundation and are ready to build long-term fitness, and every class reflects the same core principles of breath, pressure, and alignment awareness.
YouTube offers individual workouts without a cohesive methodology or progression structure. Inside RYC® FIT, every class – regardless of instructor or category – reflects the same Restore Your Core® framework. That consistency means your body builds real familiarity and adaptation over time, rather than moving between disconnected approaches. The guided series and curated collections also provide direction that standalone videos cannot.
Yes. RYC® FIT is a monthly membership with no long-term contract required. Members can cancel at any time. The platform also offers a 7-day free trial so you can explore the full class library before committing.
Building strength at home after 40 is genuinely achievable – and for many women, home-based training is actually more sustainable than a gym environment. The most effective approach combines progressive loading (gradually increasing challenge over time), attention to breath mechanics and core coordination, and recovery built into the training plan. Platforms like RYC® FIT are specifically designed around this model, offering progressive strength programming that works with the body’s needs at this life stage rather than against them.
This is one of the most common experiences women describe, and it has a real physiological basis. The body is responsive and intelligent, but it does shift over time – and what it needs from movement shifts too. Hormonal changes affect how the body responds to training load, recovers between sessions, and builds muscle. Programs that factor in nervous system regulation, joint health, and gradual progression tend to produce more consistent results. RYC® FIT is built with these variables in mind, which is why many women who struggled with conventional training find real, steady progress here.
Low-impact means the exercise places less stress on the joints – no jumping, no high-velocity movement, minimal ground-reaction force. Low-intensity refers to the cardiovascular or muscular demand. These are not the same thing: low-impact exercise can be genuinely challenging and highly effective for building strength. RYC® FIT is largely low-impact but far from low-intensity – progressive loading, coordination challenges, and intelligent structure create real adaptation without the wear that high-impact formats produce.
Perimenopause brings shifts in estrogen and progesterone that affect recovery time, energy levels, joint laxity, and how the body responds to high-load training. Adjustments that tend to help include prioritizing recovery, incorporating nervous system regulation into the training plan, and moving toward progressive loading with attention to breath and core coordination rather than maximum output. These are the principles built into the RYC® FIT methodology.
Strength training can be safe and beneficial after C-section or pelvic floor surgery, but the return to training needs to respect tissue healing, scar integration, and restored core coordination before progressive load is introduced. Many women benefit from a structured rehabilitative program before returning to general fitness. The RYC® 12-Week Program is designed specifically for this kind of foundation-building, and RYC® FIT offers a natural progression into long-term strength training once that foundation is established.
The Peloton App, Alo Moves, and barre3 each offer broad, well-produced libraries that appeal to women who want variety and quality instruction from home. The Peloton App covers strength, yoga, and cardio at scale; Alo Moves leans into yoga and mindful movement with high production value; barre3 blends barre, yoga, and Pilates with a strong emphasis on body positivity and balance.
All three are capable platforms for general fitness. Where RYC® FIT differs is in the coherence of its underlying methodology: every class is built within the Restore Your Core® framework, which integrates pelvic floor awareness, breath mechanics, and nervous system regulation as foundational principles rather than optional features. None of the other three platforms were designed with these variables in mind, which tends to matter most for women building strength after childbirth, injury, or midlife transitions – or for anyone who has found that other programs leave them feeling more depleted than strengthened.
“There is no thank you big enough for Lauren Ohayon existing and thinking and helping so many of us. Every time I do something I never thought I’d do again she is part of the reason why.”
